Home Visitation Services
The Health Department's Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Home Visiting program has been active in Cowley County for ten years. Home visitation services are offered to pregnant and postpartum women for twelve months after delivery, free of charge, regardless of race, ethnicity, financial status, or legal residency.
MCH Home Visitors are mothers trained to visit women in their homes or other agreed locations before and after their pregnancies to guarantee a healthy transition to motherhood and successful infant development. MCH Home Visitors provide education and support to help women care for themselves and their families.

Meet our Home Visitor
Jean is our Maternal & Child Health Home Visitor. She has held a variety of positions within the Winfield community, including as a property/casualty insurance agent and as a team leader in a multi-specialty clinic. Jean is a mother to four children of various ages. For over 25 years, Jean has operated a childcare center in her home, helping to take care of numerous Cowley children. Jean has a special fondness for children and an admiration for all things a mother does. She is excited to share some of her own experiences with new mothers embarking on what she describes as "a beautiful and sometimes overwhelming journey."
